Agra, 26th May, 2016: Amidst the hustle and bustle of upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party, Agra Mahanagar unit President Shri Raisuddin Qureshi has showcased his strong willingness of speeding up development work in Agra just on the lines of Smart Cities.
The versatile leader while deliberating over the various steps already taken by his government towards the development of Agra Mahanagar, said, “It is only due to the growth-oriented policies of Samajwadi Party (SP) that Agra city has touched new heights of progress in the last few years.” He added that under the able guidance of SP Supremo Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav and the proficient leadership of Chief Minister Shri Akhilesh Yadav, several development schemes have been launched and completed in Agra. “Even in the current Election Manifesto of the party, a range of innovative development plans for Agra have been listed,” he added.
Shri Qureshi added that in the last four years, Samajwadi Party government has run several welfare schemes and successfully met all the targets, including pension plan, cooperation in higher learning of talented children, building houses for the poor and extending support in the marriage of the daughters belonging to the poor families, among others.
He said, “In the future as well, Samajwadi Party is committed to fast-track all the development schemes.” Shri Qureshi said that International city Agra actually deserves better drainage system and bustling infrastructure and we wish to develop Agra on the lines of Smart Cities, provided the union government provides us the required infrastructure and support. “It is due to the world renowned monument the Taj Mahal, Agra naturally qualifies to be developed as Smart City even before any other city does,” he added.
“Taj Mahal has already brought this city on world’s map and so the tourism industry coupled with several other industries off course based on tourism sector at here, have thrown enormous opportunities for the development of Agra as a smart city,” said Mr. Qureshi, adding that many welfare schemes have already been listed for Agra in the election manifesto which include welfare of minorities and the upliftment works in the shabby settlements, quota in missionary schools for minority children, laptop distribution as well as pension and other schemes for the needy.
Moreover, SP Agra Mahanagar unit President Shri Qureshi wants a flyover to be built on MG Road in Agra, besides building a musafirkhana in Sunni Waqf Board, cleaning of the banks of river Yamuna and most importantly development of Agra on the lines of Smart Cities at the earliest.
A man of strong determination, Shri Qureshi also pitches for the revival of the Shoe industry in Agra. As per his estimates the revival of shoe industry will result into providing employment to a large number of people in the city. Shri Qureshi also wants a central shoe research institute for the research and development of the industry to be opened in Agra at the earliest. Not only this, but Shri Qureshi also has a scheme to revive textile mills of Agra.
Highly influenced by the vibrant personality of SP Supremo Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav, Shri Qureshi has played a lead role in various development works in Agra for example, renovation of shabby settlements and the development of minorities, just to mention a few. During more than two decades of his political career Shri Qureshi has earned wide popularity amongst the people of all faiths and religions and he strongly believes Samajwadi Party will be once again voted to power by the people of UP in the upcoming elections.
